Don't Do It!

After Rob Blagojevich, the nation really needed a break from hair. This week we got it. First, bald food critic Toby Young became a judge on Bravo's "Top Chef." And tonight, bald comic Howie Mandel will appear in a new show called "Howie Do It."

Mandel, also the host of “Deal or No Deal,” may forgo hair plugs, but he is certainly not afraid to plug his show. If you think that joke is bad, wait until you see "Howie Do It." Described as a new take on the classic TV prank show, it really just seems like a lame Candid Camera spin-off to me. Whoever was in the room when Mandel pitched the show to NBC really should have screamed, "No Deal!"

How is it possible that with more and more Americans being laid off, this guy has two jobs? Of course, Mandel is not alone in hosting two shows at once. He is also not alone in having a show that plays with the words "do" and "it." If you get the chance, you must tune in to Country Music Television's "Can You Duet?" Unfortunately, it's on at the same time as "Howie Do It."
